The Evangelism Committee focuses on how our Congregation can better proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in the world, and encourage and build up one another as members of the body of Christ. They also support and lead the congregation in its vision to live as Christ’s welcoming people. They take note of members who are missing from worship and contact them when appropriate to determine if there are spiritual or personal needs. They oversee the membership and pictorial directories and keep up with our youth who are going off to college. They take note of visitors and follow-up. They also oversee the publishing of brochures and packets of information to be made available to visitors.
1. To develop and maintain an evangelism awareness in the congregation.
2. To personally recognize Spirit-led opportunities to speak about Jesus Christ and provide opportunities for the congregation to participate in evangelism.
3. To lead the members of the congregation to be aware of ways they can talk about Jesus and invite other people to participate in evangelistic opportunities.
4. To maintain an active and on-going evangelism program.
5. To train people for personal witnessing.
6. To utilize and create special events as opportunities for evangelistic outreach.
7. To consider how best to use digital media as a part of evangelism strategy. Through prayer, hard work, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit the Committee anticipates success in achieving its objectives.
