"God's Work. Our Hands." Sunday is September 12, 2021. This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the ELCA—one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ—every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life—flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
St. James will be participating. More information and details to follow.
Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. Rise Against Hunger meal packaging volunteers produce millions of nutritious meals annually that are then distributed to partners in countries around the world. Those partners are best able to address the causes and effects of hunger based on their local presence and expertise.
St. James will again host a Rise Against Hunger event on November 13, 2021 from 11:00 - 1:00. We will be packing 10,152 meals. We will need 40-50 volunteers.
