We are not meeting together in person, but we offer online worship each week.
The Youth Ministry offers close relationships that can last a life time as well as creating unforgettable memories. The ministry does step out of our comfort zones in order to experience newness while receiving as well as sharing the love of Christ. We grow and learn because we walk on this journey of faith together. We serve others and that is an experience in itself. We accomplish things that we would never think were possible and we do all of this because we are called not to sit still but to get up and move! That's putting our faith into action.

I have checked Google, Yahoo and have asked Siri, it's confirmed that the Class of 2020 is a very unique class in that they, as far as can be found, are the only, nation-wide class that will not have a traditional graduation ceremony. This graduating class is a class of strength, acceptance, adjustment, compliance and sacrifice and has given up more than probably any high school class has ever done. They have missed their final competitions, final championships, final playoffs, their prom, their only senior day, honors and awards recognition, their final goodbyes to their friends and their final day of class came and went and they didn't know it happened until it was over.
The class of 2020 has given up all of those events and they are heroes in a sense and an example for many to follow. They sacrificed the traditions of the past in order to make a difference for the future. They saved lives and prevented countless number of others from contracting COVID-19 by participating in flattening the curve. They have worked hard to get where they are today. They are all champions and heroes.
In recognition of their success, contribution and their graduation from high school, we, the St. James and Calvary Youth Ministry would like to honor them with a Baccalaureate Service. In order to make this a success we are inviting you to take part in creating the positive memory they deserve.
Here is how you can help. We will be making a Graduation-to-Go Box for each one of them. This special gift will include a quillo, a Bible, and some items that are to be a surprise to them. How can you make it even more special? Write a note, send them a card and let them know how special they are and how much they will be missed as they enter into their next season of life. There are 16 high school graduates at Calvary and 6 from St. James this year.
If you would like to mail your card or note please mail them to:
Calvary Lutheran Church
950 Bradley Street
Concord, NC 28025
Attention: ______The Youth's Name_____
We will include your card or letter in their Graduation-to-Go Box and they will be a wonderful addition to their surprise. Please have all cards and notes delivered to Calvary by May 22. The Baccalaureate Service will be held on June 11 at 7:00.
Thank you in advance for your help and for making this a very memorable experience for each of them.
